Download: Android 5.0 (and 5.0.1) OTA Updates for Google Play Edition Devices

With Android 5.0.1 and 5.0 OTA updates rolling out to most Nexus devices at this point, we wanted to make sure our Google Play Edition friends were caught up as well. The Android 5.0 updates have been rolling out to the G Pad 8.3 and Z Ultra for a couple of days now, but we are just now getting updates for the One (M7) and One (M8) after a couple of delays.

As we have done with Nexus updates for years, we have put together a list of direct downloads for you below for your Google Play Edition device. We currently do not have Moto G or Galaxy S4 updates, but will hope to add them soon. (more…)

Motorola Update Services App Updated in Prep for Update to Lollipop on Moto G (1st Gen)

An update to the Motorola Update Services app has hit Google Play for owners of the Moto G (1st Gen), signifying an impending update to Lollipop. The changelog is quite clear for owners, stating, “This update is necessary to enable a future upgrade of your device to Android 5.0, Lollipop.”

Motorola Makes Lollipop Update Official for Moto G (2nd Gen) and Moto X Pure Edition

After posting release notes for the Lollipop update on its own site, Motorola has now officially announced the update to Android 5.0 for the Moto G (2nd gen.) US GSM model, Moto X Pure Edition, and Moto G (2nd gen.) Global GSM retail model. (more…)

Motorola Posts Lollipop Release Notes for Moto G (2nd Gen)

As expected, it appears that Motorola is ready to unwrap the Lollipop update for the Moto G (2014) as well, posting the full release notes on its site. Just a moment ago, soak test participants were receiving notifications to download Android 5.0 on the Moto X Pure Edition, and now Moto G owners can soon expect the same. (more…)

Comparison: DROID Turbo vs. Nexus 6 vs. Moto X (2nd Gen) vs. Moto G

Motorola Sets up Lollipop Update Tracking Page

Following directly after the announcement of Lollipop by Google, Motorola was quick to announce upcoming updates for most of its devices. Included in the list of supported devices are of course the first and second gen. Moto X phones, as well as all of last year’s DROID units.

Android 5.0 Coming to Moto X (Both Models), Moto G, Moto E, and Last Year’s DROIDs

Motorola may have had a hand in crafting one of the first devices to run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, but that thankfully doesn’t mean the manufacturer isn’t committed to its existing product lineup.

In a blog post today, Motorola confirmed both the older and newer Moto X and Moto G, Moto G with LTE, Moto E, and all three current-generation Droid smartphones – the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini – will receive an upgrade to Lollipop. (more…)
