Original Moto G LTE Arrives at AT&T October 10

The original Moto G LTE, not to be confused with the Moto G that Motorola announced a month ago, will be available at AT&T starting October 10. The device will run $199 with no annual contract, $79.99 with a 1-year contract, or as low as $7.50 per month with an AT&T Next plan. Again, this is not the new Moto G, this is the original that was announced in November 2013, only now it has LTE on board.

As a recap, the original Moto G sports a 4.5-inch HD display (720p), quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 2,070mAh battery, 5MP camera, and runs a “pure” Android experience. It does not have Moto Display or Moto Voice, but does have access to add-ons like Moto Assist. This is the phone that became Motorola’s best selling smartphone of all time within a few months.

October 10 is the day if you want to buy one through AT&T.  (more…)

  • New Moto G (2014) Unboxing

    New Moto G (2014) Unboxing

The original Moto G quickly became Motorola’s best selling smartphone of all time, thanks to a combination of solid specs and unbeatable price. So what do you do for a follow-up to that type of success? You build a similar phone, yet upgrade it in all of the areas that current users requested.

Motorola has done that with the new Moto G by putting a bigger 5-inch display in it, 8MP camera, front facing speakers, and a micro SD slot. The swappable back covers are still available, as is the stock Android experience, so current owners of the device who are looking to upgrade should be excited.

At $179, this is still an incredible deal.

Here is a quick unboxing to show you the new Moto G.  (more…)

New Moto G is Official and Available Today for $179

Alongside the new Moto X and Moto 360, Motorola also introduced a new version of the Moto G today. The Moto G, for those not familiar, is Motorola’s best selling smartphone of all time, and is also basically the reason that this embargo on all of these new products is happening this late in the US. You see, Motorola knows where its winner is selling, so they are announcing all of this just in time for the rest of the world (the people who are buying the Moto G) to see it in prime time.  (more…)

Motorola Readies Product Unveiling at 1AM Central, Live Stream Tomorrow

As you all know, Motorola is hosting press today in Chicago to show off new products (all would be hinted at in the image above). What has become clear throughout the day, though, is that we didn’t mention enough times that this isn’t a live streaming type of thing, it’s just a press gathering. In other words, it isn’t/wasn’t something that could be watched or live blogged.

With that said, Motorola announced this afternoon on Twitter that you should get ready for an unveiling this evening, at 1AM Central, which is 2AM Eastern (11PM Pacific). Moto plans to “start unveiling the new portfolio of Moto products” at that time.   (more…)
