On the day that Google introduced two new Google Play Edition devices, we also were treated to the arrival of an official Folio case for the 2013 Nexus 7. At $49.99, it’s not exactly cheap, though we wouldn’t expect official Nexus accessories to be cheap these days. After seeing the official (and poorly designed) Nexus 5 Bumper drop in at $34.99, the price of this Folio is right about where one would envision it to be. But as always, we like to pick-up all official Nexus accessories to give them some run and see if Google has created the perfectly designed compliment for their device lineup. (more…)

Newest Google Search Update Seems to Make GEL Work Perfectly on Nexus 7
Even though Google’s GEL or Google Experience Launcher is currently an exclusive to the Nexus 5, we’re all well aware of its capabilities on other devices running Android 4.1+. In fact, the last Google Search update from mid-November brought compatibility with the new launcher to all sorts of devices, assuming you had the new GoogleHome.apk sideloaded. Deal: Office Depot has the Nexus 7 (2013) at $50 Off, Starting at $179 – 32GB Version for $229
We know that plenty of electronics retailers have the Nexus 7 (2013) on sale these days, but Office Depot currently has the best offer. The office supply store has slashed prices on both the 16GB and 32GB versions, but are also offering free next-day shipping. For $179 ($50 off), you can grab the 16GB version, and for $229 ($40 off) you can grab the 32GB version.
The deal is good both in stores and online, so if you have a nearby Office Depot, don’t be afraid to stop by a store or at least check availability. There is a limit of 1 per customer.

Best Buy has the 16GB Nexus 7 (2013) for $195 Today Only
Best Buy is currently hosting a 1-day online sale for the 2013 Nexus 7 with 16GB of storage for $194.99. That’s a $35 discount, or the exact price of a new Chromecast should you not own one yet. I’m not sure you’ll find a better deal anywhere, especially on a new unit which this appears to be.

With the case, you can keep your tablet safe by covering up its glass with the cover, which features magnets for “smart” screen on and screen off action. Download: Android 4.4.2 OTA Update for Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 10, and Nexus 7 (2013)
Well, that escalated quickly. Google is rolling out OTA updates for Nexus devices to Android 4.4.2, and we have download links for you.
The only ones we have yet to see are downloads for the Nexus 7 2012, both WiFi and HSPA+ models. Once they become available, we will add them to the list.Update: We have the other download links, so have at ’em! (more…)
