If you couldn’t catch yesterday’s magic, with the unveiling of the new Nexus 7, Chromecast and Android 4.3, Google has gone ahead and made the event replay-able via YouTube. The video lasts just a little over an hour, but it’s nice to watch Sundar and Hugo do their thing onstage. Unfortunately, there were no real awkward moments or anything too interesting, but if you missed it, here you go. (more…)

How Awesome is It That the New Nexus 7 LTE Works on Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T?
I’d hate to call it shocking, but one of the most interesting announcements out of yesterday’s Google event was the fact that the new Nexus 7 LTE model works on Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile LTE networks, all from a single device. In the past, we have seen tablet manufacturers produce separate models when they tweak them to work on specific carrier network frequencies, but not with this one. Google has done something awesome. Download: Android 4.3 OTA Updates for the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, Galaxy Nexus
During Google’s Android and Chrome event that took place yesterday in San Francisco, Hugo Barra announced that most of the their Nexus family of phones would start seeing OTA updates to Android 4.3 almost immediately. That list includes the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and Galaxy Nexus (GSM). But while these updates technically started yesterday, we know that almost everything involving software at Google these days happens in stages, so you may not be prompted to update for some time. Thankfully, we’re already finding OTA update links, meaning you can manually update today if you’d like. (more…)

Download: Two New Wallpapers From the New Nexus 7
The new Nexus 7 includes two new wallpapers that we thought you might enjoy as Android enthusiasts. The best looking of the two – in my opinion – is the one you are seeing above, which is the same wallpaper used in most of the promo images for the new 7-inch tablet from Google. The other is some sort of a spiral-warp-speed-black-hole-ish design, that truthfully, doesn’t seem to match up to the polish and cleanly feel of previous Nexus wallpapers. But I’ll let you be the judge of that.
Both are included below with download links should you be interested. (more…)

Download: New Google Play Version 4.2.9
The new Nexus 7 that was announced today by Google runs version 4.2.9 of Google Play, which is newer than the version that we saw last week in an Android 4.3 build (version 4.2.3) for the Nexus 4. We aren’t noticing any major differences at this time, but thought we’d share it anyway. If you discover something, be sure to let us know. (more…)

Video: New Nexus 7 vs. Old Nexus 7
Been hoping to see a full comparison of the old Nexus 7 versus the new Nexus 7? Well, look no further! Kellen was pretty smart and brought along his old Nexus 7 down to San Francisco to Google’s press event, so below is a video showing off some of the major differences between both devices.
To kick it off, let’s start with the obvious. The old Nexus 7 features a 7″ HD 720p display, last year’s Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and has no back-facing camera. The new and improved Nexus tablet sports a Full HD 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 5MP rear-facing camera and has dual back-facing stereo speakers. It’s not the largest jump in specs we have ever seen, but it does bring new life to the device and should make a lot of buyers very happy.
