Best Buy Ad Shows July 30 Launch Date, $229 Price, and 1920×1200 Resolution for the New Nexus 7

The new Nexus 7, even though it will likely be announced at a Google event on Wednesday, has been leaked more ways than we can count over the last 3-4 days. It initially popped up in a series of photos and video, then through a variety of retailer inventory systems showing pricing and availability dates, and then moments ago in an official press render. And with all of that, we still wanted confirmation on an upgraded display, along with more information on a launch date. We think we now have that thanks to a Best Buy ad that is scheduled to run in next Sunday’s paper. (more…)

Tipster Points to July 31 Launch of New Nexus 7 at Staples Stores

According to another leak this morning, the new Nexus 7 from ASUS and Google will go on sale at Staples, starting July 31. As seen in the memo sent out to employees down below, inventory will begin arriving at stores as early as next week, but will be kept in “lockup” until the last day of the month. Apparently, any sales associate that sells a new Nexus 7 before the sales embargo lifts will be getting into a lot of a trouble, including the possibility of termination. Nexus 7 Leak Shows 1.5GHz Quad-core Processor, Wireless Charging, SlimPort, and Android 4.3

The new Nexus 7 is on its way, that much is certain. We also think we know what it looks like for the most part, that it’ll be priced at $229 (16GB) and $269 (32GB), that retailers are expecting display units as early as July 20, and that Google will more than likely unveil the 7-inch tablet on July 24 at a press event in San Francisco. And Here are the First Pictures of the New Nexus 7

Can we officially dub July 17 as “New Nexus 7 Leak Day”? Starting with pricing leaks this morning, followed by the scheduling of a Google Event for next week and retailer inventory dates sneaking into public view, we now also have a first look at the Google-inspired 7-inch tablet. Retailers are Expecting Shipments of the New Nexus 7 Next Week

Shortly after pricing info for the new Nexus 7 made an appearance this morning, evidence that the revision of last year’s popular 7-inch tablet is headed to retailers as early as next week surfaced. According to documents that have leaked out of OfficeMax, the new Nexus 7 will hit stores on July 20 and be placed on display next to the old Nexus 7. Yes, these documents actually refer to them as “new” and “old,” meaning this is indeed the 2013 Nexus 7 still made by Asus. (more…)

New Nexus 7 Priced at $229 for 16GB, $269 for 32GB?

According to a leaked screenshot out of an unnamed electronics retailer, we may have our first look at potential pricing for the new Nexus 7. In the screenshot (pictured below), we’re looking at prices of $229 and $269 for the 16GB and 32GB models, respectively. While we still have no firm launch date, other than July references from our sources and others throughout the industry, the chances of the device showing up in the next couple of weeks seems likely.
