The DROID Incredible 2 has been getting a lot of play this week, but we’re no longer surprised after we received word that it now has an April 21 release date attached to it. And to make that date seem even more likely, we have the first pictures of an Incredible 2 case looking as DROIDie as ever. The packaging for these products still hasn’t changed, but I’m not going to lie, part of me wishes they adopt the Thunderbolt styling…damn was that a sexy box. (more…)

Updated Verizon Roadmap: DROID Charge Launching April 14, Incredible 2 on April 21
Last week, a Verizon roadmap leaked out which showed the release dates of almost all of their new phones including the Incredible 2 and DROID Charge, but things may have changed slightly which only makes sense since the Charge didn’t make that original April 7 date. According to the sheet you are looking at above (image removed), Sears (Kmart) plans to start selling the Charge next Thursday (April 14) with the Incredible 2 following up right behind it on April 21. The Charge doesn’t come as a surprise especially since we’ve seen accessories already arriving in stores as of today. The Sony Xperia PLAY will then finish out the month on April 28, making April insanely busy for us in the mobile phone industry.
Anyone jumping on any of these?

Entire New DROID Lineup Appears in Verizon Device Manager: BIONIC, Incredible 2, Charge, and DROIDX2
Verizon’s device management system has always been one of those we go to when looking for the newest info on upcoming devices. So when we saw that the DROID Bionic, DROID Charge, DROID Incredible 2, and DROIDX2 were all included, we got excited and had to share. While there are no release dates tied to these, it’s just one of those things we cross off our lists when we’re in countdown mode for a phone’s release. (more…)

DROID Incredible 2 Press Shots Revealed Along with Red Eye
I’d say we’re getting pretty close to a release of the Incredible 2 if press images are starting to leak out, wouldn’t you? After seeing new shots of the device leak out this morning from a tester followed by these images that will accompany an official announcement, I’d say we’re almost there. Oh, and look at that, the DROID red eye that comes with every DROID-branded phone. Looks pretty similar to the eye from the original, but maybe a little larger?

New Pictures of the DROIDX2 and Incredible 2 Arrive, No Surprises Revealed
Two of our family members made appearances last night, looking as expected. The DROIDX2 which is still revealing no signs of ever being 4G LTE or having a front-facing camera, posed for a few pictures, all while showing off the fact that it’s still running Android 2.2. Other than not having a camera button, you really couldn’t tell the difference between this and the original. (more…)

New RUU Leaks for HTC Incredible 2 on Verizon
The HTC “Vivo” aka the Incredible 2 is nearing release, and usually with any HTC device, we see versions of its final software start hitting the interwebs courtesy of 911 Sniper. Well, guess what? A final RUU and PG32IMG just went up in the last hour and are available for you to download. We’ll be digging around in them after our snailish downloads finish and report back. An April release for this follow-up to the original would feel good, wouldn’t it?

DROID CHARGE Minimum Advertised Price at $299, DROID Incredible 2 at $199?
You may be feasting your eyes on initial pricing of the soon-to-be-announced DROID CHARGE and HTC Incredible 2 which we are expecting to land in Verizon stores some time in April. We’re a little shocked at the CHARGE $299 price, but will have to assume that it will drop to $249 or even $199 at stores through instant discounts because there is no way in you-know-what, that they’ll move any units if it comes in at that price. This phone has received zero love from our readers on every poll we’ve run with it as a choice, so hopefully they have a plan that includes immediate cuts from that “MAP’d” price.
Seeing the Incredible 2 at $199 though, seems just about where we’d expect it to be. The previous version was at $199, so was the DROIDX, DROID2 and every other non-4G high-end Android device that’s come through Verizon. I hate to say this, but isn’t $199 almost looking inexpensive these days? I feel as if $249 for the Thunderbolt was just the beginning of a trend towards ridiculously expensive handsets.

Wednesday Poll: Verizon’s Roadmap Leaks, Which Phone will be Yours?
A roadmap for Verizon’s Spring lineup of phones may have leaked out this morning giving you the schedule for a one of the most impressive collections of new phones we’ve seen on a carrier in a while. You’ve got dual-core options, 4G LTE options, 3G-only phones, 4″ and 4.3″ screens, Gingerbread, skins, gaming pads, and a ton of power. How on Earth will any of you decide? And I have a feeling I know which phone you are all waiting for, but let’s vote it out and see.
