DEAL: 32GB Nexus 5X is Just $269 at eBay ($130 Off)

If you missed out on the end-of-the-week sale that B&H Photo held last Friday for the 16GB Nexus 5X, we have another equally-as-good deal today. Over at eBay, you can grab a 32GB Nexus 5X for just $269.99, which is a $130 discount off Google’s full retail price. How can you beat that?

As we always mention with the 5X, this affordable 2015 Nexus was already a good value at Google’s pricing, so when you see big discounts like this, it’s tough not to want to jump at it. For one, it’s a Nexus, which means the quickest of all Android updates and access to Android Betas for things like Android N. This Nexus also has a great camera, a smallish body for those who like smallish phones, connectivity on all of the major US carriers, and is only getting better with each update.

    What’s not to like?

At $229 ($120 off!), the Nexus 5X is without a doubt today’s deal of the day. As far as I can tell, this is the lowest price we have seen to date on Google’s affordable 2015 phone.

The deal is currently running through B&H Photo’s DealZone, but keep in mind that this is a 1-day-only event. In fact, as of the time of this post, there are only 13 hours left to secure your Nexus 5X before the price drop disappears.

This Nexus 5X comes in either mint (a really light green) or white and with 16GB of storage.  (more…)

  • Question of the Day: Why Don’t You Buy Nexus Phones?

Question of the Day: Why Don’t You Buy Nexus Phones?

Earlier today, Google CEO Sundar Pichai made an appearance at Recode’s Code Conference to talk about all that is on his company’s plate. During the chat, the conversation moved over to Google’s Nexus line of devices and where it’s headed. In short, Pichai said that Google is investing more in Nexus and sees areas that they can really improve upon stock Android through Nexus devices, as weird as that sounds.

Conversations like these often spark my curiosity, especially when they involve the Nexus line, a long-standing favorite of ours. As many of you know, we love the Nexus line of products (phones more specifically) because they offer a lot of what we look for in an Android phone. We get Google’s vision for the operating system without the bloat, the newest versions the quickest (which means new features first), and direct and swift updates from Google.  (more…)

Sundar Pichai: We are “Investing More Effort” Into Nexus, More Opinionated on Design and Features Too

With the launch of the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X, I think it’s safe to say that Google was trying to tell us that it is now taking its Nexus products seriously. They created two phones for the first time in a single year at two price points to give consumers choice. They then put them up for sale all over the place, making them much more accessible than in the past, and are constantly running regular discounts on them through promotions to tempt you into buying one. It’s pretty obvious that Google wants you to buy their phones, to see their vision for Android, and hell, get updates when you are supposed to get updates.

To further hammer that point home, Google CEO Sundar Pichai sat down at Recode’s Code Conference today to discuss some of the recent Google I/O happenings, but also to talk about Nexus.  (more…)
