Below, you’ll find the link to the factory images for the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus 9 LTE, Nexus Player, and Pixel C, along with instructions on how to flash them.

Nexus 5X is Getting Its Jank-Fixing Update

During our Nexus 5X review, we were pretty upfront about the fact that we felt the phone struggled mightily in the performance department. We’re talking a serious amount of slow down, lag, and even jank, throughout a day that often required multiple reboots. It was a shocking discovery, since most Nexus phones typically offer one of the smoothest Android experiences on the planet, but our worries were backed up by numerous comments from our readers. We wondered how long it would take before Google would address the issues, assuming they could even be fixed.

As it turns out, they can be! Orrin, a Nexus Community Manager, took to reddit today to announce that the Nexus 5X’s March update will include not only the new March security patches, but also “bug fixes that will improve overall stability, connectivity, and performance.” Yes, this is the jank fixer we have been waiting for.  (more…)

  • Don’t Expect Another LG Nexus This Year

Don’t Expect Another LG Nexus This Year

In 2015, Google wanted to bring back an updated take on what is arguably the most popular Nexus phone of all time when they partnered with LG for the Nexus 5X. The phone features upgraded specs over LG’s original Nexus 5, yet it is still available at a relatively similar low price. While none of us know how well the Nexus 5X has done in terms of sales or if Google considers it a success, LG is already telling the world not to expect a version 3 for 2016.  (more…)

  • HTC One M10 May Use the Same 12MP Camera as the Nexus 6P, but With OIS

HTC One M10 May Use the Same 12MP Camera as the Nexus 6P, but With OIS

When Google announced the Nexus 6P and 5X at an event in San Francisco back in September of last year, they talked a lot about the camera that they put inside of each, calling it the “best all-around” they had ever used. One of the major focuses was on the fact that the camera was capturing 1.55 micron pixels, which meant that it could capture more light on bigger pixels and thus the reason optical image stabilization (OIS) was left out. However, during that event to announce each phone, they wouldn’t come right out and specify the model of the camera, but we knew at the time that it was a 12.3MP Sony sensor that Google claimed was originally built for point-and-shoot cameras. Shortly after the festivities, we learned that they were using the Sony IMX377.

I bring all of this up because according to a long-standing HTC leaker, it may be the same sensor that HTC uses in the upcoming One M10 or “Perfume.”

In a Tweet posted this morning, @LlabTooFeR suggests that HTC is going with a main camera on the One M10 that is a 12MP Sony IMX377 that captures 1.55 micron pixels, has laser autofocus, phase detection autofocus, and optical image stabilization.  (more…)
