HTC Announces the HTC One (M8)

It’s now official, and we also have a new official name of HTC One (M8). Seriously, we’re now using codenames in official names. OK then, HTC.

The phone is just like the one you have been hearing about for months. The live blog and stream are still going though, so as HTC unveils more, we’ll be adding to this post. Be sure to follow along.

Update 2: The device is available today at 1PM Eastern from all carriers online, in-store at Verizon. Just like we reported.

One More Leak: Here is HTC’s Full List of One (M8) Features That are About to be Announced

In under 20 minutes, HTC will tell you everything you are about to read on this two cards. Yes, this is one final “All New HTC One” leak before things get official.

The feature sheets include everything from the leaks, so none of it is necessarily new. We are seeing mentions of BoomSound, new BlinkFeed, Duo Camera with UFocus and Zoe, Motion Launch (off-screen gestures), Sense 6, and the new Dot View Cases. Each item has a description and way to “try it out” listed, so if you had any questions as to how these things will work, now you know.

The bottom of the sheet below also lists out the official specs.

HTC One (M8) Specs

HTC will unveil the “All New HTC One” or HTC One (M8) in a few minutes, so we thought a refresher on specs would be worth a look. Keep in mind that these specs are not 100% official until HTC makes them official, but thanks to leaks from carriers (which include spec lists) and a handful of in-depth video reviews, we have a pretty good idea as to what we are in for.

Live: HTC One (M8) Event in NYC

We are finally here! After more leaks than anyone can possibly keep track of, HTC will take the stage at 11AM Eastern (8AM Pacific) at dual events in London and New York City and make the “All New HTC One” or HTC One (2014) or HTC One (M8) official. It has been quite the journey, leaving few surprises, but we are still looking forward to the show (and time with the device). (more…)

HTC Follows Motorola’s Lead With Software Updates, Adds Key Apps to Play Store

Over night, HTC pushed live to Google Play a whole bunch of apps for the “All New HTC One” that will be announced in under two hours at events in London and NYC. The apps are BlinkFeed, Gallery, SenseTV, Service Pack, and a companion app for their Fetch accessory. The story isn’t the apps, though, it’s what this move means for HTC devices going forward. HTC’s Website Mentions 1PM Sales Start, 4 Carriers, 4 Colors and Unlocked, Developer and Google Play Editions of New One

We are moments away from the unveiling at this point, but little details that are helping fully shape the full picture of the “All New HTC One” are still trickling in. We know all about its software features and specs, have seen it in countless videos, and really only needed release information to make this story complete. Latest Fitbit Update Adds MobileTrack and BlinkFeed Badges for “All New HTC One”

So, Fitbit rolled out an update today for its Android app. You now have a widget for your activity goal, design updates, and support for simplified and traditional Chinese. But that’s not the story here — looking through the update’s changelog, we also have “Adds MobileTrack for All New HTC One” and “Adds ability to view badges in BlinkFeed for HTC devices running Sense 6.0+.” What does this mean? Rogers Outs “All New HTC One” Early, Official Specs Confirmed

There isn’t much more we can say about the “All New HTC One” at this point – it has been leaked more than any phone in history. It will officially be announced tomorrow by HTC, but who cares at this point what HTC has to say. If you want this phone, then you probably already know all there is to know. You really do. All you should think about now is when you can buy it from carriers outside of Verizon. That should be at 1PM Eastern, the same time Big Red plans to sell it, as far as we know.

But if you needed one last HTC One (M8) post to run through, an official spec list probably isn’t a bad one to check out. Thanks to Canadian carrier Rogers, we have just that. (more…)
