With a March 25 press event now looming, the leaks for HTC’s upcoming flagship phone will likely only pick up. Codenamed the M8 and successor to the One, the latest image of the device with a case on comes to us courtesy of industry leaker @evleaks. The image doesn’t necessarily reveal anything new, but the date of March 25 and location of New York City is listed on the device, both of which relate to the event. (more…)

HTC Announces “Advantage” Program, Will Replace Your Cracked Screen for Free
This morning, along with its event announcement for the One follow-up on March 25, HTC announced a new program called “Advantage” that is free to all owners of the HTC One, One Mini, and One Max. Think of sort of like handset protection in a way, only this is free and certainly has time limitations.
The program includes things like a “commitment to Android updates” for two years, free cloud storage, HTC’s backup service, and “hands-on” help. But where you may really find some use, is through the program’s free cracked screen replacement. HTC will replace the screen on your One, One Mini, or One Max within the first six months of ownership for free. (more…)

HTC Sets Date for One Follow-up, Mark March 25 on Your Calendars
HTC is sending out press invites this morning for an event that will take place on March 25 in both London and New York City. Just like you, we are expecting this to be the unveiling of their follow-up to the HTC One, which has been leaked left and right for weeks as the HTC “M8.” While details are certainly not official or confirmed, the device appears to mimic the HTC One, but with an odd dual-camera setup and on-screen navigation buttons. HTC to Update Future Flagships for Two Years After Launch – No Ifs, Ands, or Buts (Updated)
HTC is currently hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit, completely focused on nothing but Android updates. As Android users might be aware, HTC for the most part hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to updating flagship devices in a timely manner, but they have given it their best since the launch of the One.
When Google released Kit Kat last year, HTC announced that in 90 days, all US variants of the device would be running Android 4.4+. As it turned out, they didn’t quite meet their own timeframe, but you have to give them credit due to the company’s complete transparency on social media as to why devices weren’t being updated. Now in February, all One devices should be running Kit Kat. (more…)

HTC One Owners Jelly Over MotoMaker? Check Out HTC’s Official Custom Double Dip Cases
Thanks to the launch of new custom-color cases, HTC is providing a flare of customization for One owners. The cases are Double Dip cases (which have been around since the phone first launched), and buyers can choose up to three different colors to add to the cases, out of six different color options. It is by no means as awesome as Motorola’s MotoMaker for Moto X buyers, but some color is better than no color, right? (more…)

Tuesday Poll: From What We’ve Seen So Far, Would You Choose the HTC M8 or Samsung Galaxy S5?
Rumors for both the HTC M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5 are at an all time high, so it’s time we ask where you all stand as of this very moment. From what we think we know, the Galaxy S5 will launch with either a 5.25″ QHD display or a 1080p display, but that’s if there aren’t actually two different variants of the device; one premium model and one less-premium model. The device is still rumored to feature a 16MP rear-facing camera, a quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and launch with Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat.
The HTC M8 is currently rumored to launch with a 5″ 1080p display, dual rear-facing cameras, a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and come out of the box running Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat. Luckily for HTC fans, reported pictures of the M8 have been popping up here and there of the device, while Samsung fans haven’t been as lucky.
So, if both phones were released tomorrow, which one would get your vote?

Yet Another Purported HTC M8 Image Surfaces, Massive Black Unnecessary Logo Bar Included
I don’t feel like the the purported HTC M8 (One follow-up) leaks are going to slow down any time soon. With Samsung preparing to announce the Galaxy S5 in weeks, HTC can’t be far behind with their next flagship. And with that, we get pictures like the one you are seeing below from @HTCFamily_RU. According to a Tweet sent along with this image, you are looking at an almost-crystal-clear image of the One’s successor. (more…)

HTC Looking to Achieve Profitability by Focusing on Low-End Devices and Better Marketing
It’s no secret around the industry that HTC’s profitability and market share have declined in recent years, thanks to a few unsuccessful launches and a public unwilling to completely adopt its hardware as much as Samsung’s. While speaking to Reuters ahead of HTC’s earnings guidance presentation, executives outlined a new two-tier approach that will place greater emphasis on low-cost devices and effective marketing.
