Official: Simple Now Supports Android Pay

You read that right, Simple customers – the world’s most tech-savvy bank (not official or backed up by actual data), Simple, now supports Android Pay.

After a long, long wait, customers can now add their Simple debit cards to Android Pay and everything should work the way you’d expect it to. To set up your card, open up the Android Pay app, input the Simple card details and that’s it. You’re now ready to start paying like a real millennial.

Should you run into problems, Simple already has a FAQ set up on its website, detailing the secondary verification process. You shouldn’t need it, but just in case, it is available.

Now, before you ask, I have already inquired about support for Samsung Pay. Currently, Simple has nothing to share, but they are working on it. These things take time, as you have likely already figured out.

Anyway, Android Pay!

Update: I just went through the process of enabling my card for usage on Android Pay, and it’s not as easy as I expected. For the most part, it’s straightforward. Once you request for usage and input a few identifier numbers (SSN, BD, etc.), Simple must process the request which can take a couple of days. It’s not a complex process, but still something to take note of.

  • My Simple card is now activated on Android Pay. It was processed within a few hours.

    • Only took a few hours and my Simple card was working in Android Pay. Subsequently, it is now my “Default” payment card!

  • Compared to USAA and Chase’s verification process, this is a bit… Absurd, honestly. Android Pay takes you through the usual, then prompts you to call to activate… The automated phone system tells you to visit http://simple.com/androidpay which then opens up in the Simple app, where you input last four of your SSN, Zip code, and birth date, then it sends a ticket to the support team to manually activate it, which they say may take up to two days.

I really hope this is only a temporary measure, otherwise I feel deeply sorry for their support staff.

  • Actually there is a convoluted validation process mixed in there.. Not as SIMPLE as “To set up your card, open up the Android Pay app, input the Simple card details and that’s it.” But hey good on Simple

    • How about the lack of establishments that take any sort of NFC payment? Where I live, if it’s not a National retailer/restaurant, there is no point in using/worrying about Android Pay or any other- local bars/restaurants don’t participate…

      • In my neck of the woods, lots just upgraded to the chips, but few upgraded with NFC also.

      • Pretty much this. I think McDonald’s and Best Buy are the only places I’ve seen NFC payments at.

        • <-From the day I started my online business, I earned 62 dollars every 15 minutes. I know it sound absolutely incredible, but you just cannot lose the possibility.Check Out What I Do…………………….. http://hut.bz/gbm49u5u
