    Google has a New “VR-ish” App for You to Try Out

    Google’s Android Experiments program has a new app for you to play with today, called Sprayscape. The app is a “VR-ish” experience mixed with a spray can, some gyroscope action, and your imagination. Confused?

    With Sprayscape, the goal is to create super random 3D-like imagery that you can quickly share to your social audiences. You fire up the app and then just start tapping or spraying in a VR world to create fun visions that you would want to send to friends. I know that still doesn’t make much sense, so please, watch the video above.

    Project Fi Intros ‘Group Plan,’ Up to Six People on One Plan

    Project Fi now offers a family plan, called Group Plan. With it, up to six people can all be under the same plan, only paying for the data they use. To break it down, access to the plan is $15 a month for new lines (still $20 for the initial line), which comes with unlimited talk and text. Like a standard single plan, each 1GB of data is priced at $10. However, if you don’t use all of your data in a month, the money you paid for that data is credited back to your account.  (more…)

    Humble Bundle 21 Offers Goat Simulator, Door Kickers and More in the Name of Charity

    It’s been quite some time since we last wrote up a Humble Bundle, but #21 was recently made available, this time helping out the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child’s Play Charity.

    If you aren’t familiar with Humble Bundle, it’s very simply to understand. To start, there is a group of games you receive for any amount donated over $1. However, if you pay a certain price, this time being $5, you unlock another tier of games for your purchase. If you go over another amount, being $6, you get another group of games.     Google Will No Longer Require Hangouts to be Bundled on New Hardware

    According to an email from Google to Google Mobile Services partners, reported by Android Police, Hangouts is getting a gentle kick out of the door. Set to begin this December 1, Google will no longer require Hangouts to be preinstalled on new hardware from OEMs, which is part of something typically referred to as the package of “gapps.” This package also contains apps like Gmail, Drive, Maps, and a few others.  (more…)

    Facebook announced a new app this week, breaking yet another piece of the main Facebook mobile experience off into its own tangent. This time, it’s for Events, providing a new area for users to find all of the latest happenings in their area.

    With Events, you can easily find concerts, track events you are already planning to attend, and other nightlife action. To begin, you will see a calendar, complete with things you are already scheduled for. If you happen to be free one night, you can find a local event that might interest you.
