    In recent years, Google has really stepped up its wallpaper game on Nexus devices with the use of satellite imagery. The images are both beautiful and interesting, but if you don’t own a Nexus, miss out when we post them up for download, or simply need more of them in your life, consider taking a look at Terra Collection, a free wallpaper pack filled with even more satellite stunners.

    In Terra Collection, you’ll find dozens of wallpapers, most of which are of the satellite variety. The collection also includes Google’s most recent Nexus wallpaper releases, as well as some from OSX and iOS too, in case you want those.  (more…)

    Pavilion, a ‘Fourth Person’ Puzzle Adventure Game, Available Now for NVIDIA SHIELD

    A new game for SHIELD owners (both SHIELD TV and Tablet), is now available on Google Play. Called Pavilion, it is described as a fourth person puzzle adventure game. Interestingly, once the game boots, there are no tutorials or instructions. You, as the player, must explore and figure everything out for yourself.

    The overall layout is a dreamy fantasy world, complete with loads of challenging puzzles for you to solve. As you continue on your journey, the developers hope that you will begin to understand the world in which you have been placed.  (more…)

    Google Publishes Duo Commercials Instead of Releasing Allo

    Google has posted five 30-second spots for Duo up on YouTube, time and money that could have gone towards getting Allo into the hands of users. Wow, am I that bitter? Anyway, the commercials feature classic partnerships, such as coffee and cream, peanut butter and jelly, toothbrush and toothpaste, plus salt and pepper. These are apparently all items you could picture having a video chat with each other.  (more…)

    Nova Launcher Beta Update Includes Pixel Launcher Setup

    Following in the footsteps of Action Launcher 3, Nova Launcher Beta has now been updated to bring that Pixel Launcher flavor as well. That means you get an app drawer that can be swiped into, an arrow indicator to remind you to swipe, transparent tinting of the dock area, proper Pixel folder icons, and the new Google Search pill with calendar.

    Last year in October, SwiftKey unveiled an alpha build for the world’s first keyboard powered by a neural network. Since then, big things have been happening at SwiftKey, namely the company being acquired by Microsoft. Possibly topping that news, SwiftKey has publicly launched the world’s first mobile keyboard powered by a neural network.     Pokemon GO Update With ‘Buddy’ Feature Now Rolling Out

    For all of you anxiously awaiting the ability to have a “buddy” Pokemon, the update that enables this feature is now available for Pokemon GO. With this buddy system, trainers need only to walk varying distances to earn candy for their buddy Pokemon. Why is this cool? Well, if you live in a region that does not have many of a certain type of Pokemon, this feature allows you to farm candy for a Pokemon you really want to boost up or evolve.

    From what I have seen, there are three levels of varying distances to travel. More common Pokemon take just 1km to earn candy, uncommon Pokemon take 3km, and rare Pokemon take 5km. Is this efficient, though? In my opinion, not really, considering that’s quite a bit of walking for just a bit of candy. I’d much rather just have fun randomly catching Pokemon, but that’s just me.  (more…)

    Microsoft Outlook Gets a Calendar Update on the Eve of Sunrise’s Death That Benefits Few

    The folks who once worked for Sunrise announced this morning that their popular calendar app is now dead. It’s dead because Microsoft bought them and has decided to no longer support the app and instead infuse Sunrise’s brilliance into Outlook, a subpar email app. Today, we are getting a glimpse into the future of Sunrise integrated into Outlook, though most of the goodness is only available to a really small group of users. Most of us, if we are using Outlook, won’t see this stuff for a while.  (more…)
