Ebay is currently running a solid daily deal on the 2013 Nexus 7. For $199, you can grab the 16GB variant that normally retails for $229 through outlets like the Google Play store. And if the $30 savings wasn’t enough to get you moving, the seller is also offering free shipping with orders. Oh, and this is a brand new N7, not refurbished.

The quantities are limited, so if you are in the market for a new Nexus 7, get over there.

  • Forget the Official $30 Nexus 7 Sleeve From Google Play, Amazon has Cases for $3

    nexus 7 case

When Google first released the new Nexus 7 onto Google Play, they included a listing for an official sleeve case at a price of $29.99. That case disappeared and re-appeared from Google Play for weeks before becoming available today. It’s probably a decent case, assuming you want to zip and unzip your new tablet from a case every time you want to use it. For those who don’t want to spend $30 on a zip-up sleeve, we thought we should point out that Amazon has all sorts of case alternatives, many of which that retail for less than $10 – some at $2.98.  (more…)

  • Google Currently Looking Into New Nexus 7 GPS Issue, Appears to be Widespread

    new nexus 7 wallpaper

According to users on several forums and across the web, the new Nexus 7 is currently experiencing GPS issues. From what people are reporting, the tablet will lock on to GPS, then all of a sudden drop signal and never return. Sometimes it will work for 30+ minutes, while other times it can only lock onto a satellite signal for a couple of minutes. After plenty of factory resets and checking their settings, users are going straight to Google for answers.  (more…)

  • No ETA on Factory Image for New Nexus 7, According to JBQ (Updated)

    new nexus 7

Been wondering when the factory images would arrive for the new Nexus 7 aka “flo”? According to Jean-Baptiste Queru, the master of all things AOSP and factory image, we have no ETA. In fact, he went as far as saying “I don’t know if they’ll ever be available at all.” Now, before you freak out, keep in mind that this same situation presented itself when the Nexus 4 launched, but we now have images for that device, including the new JWR66V Android 4.3 build.  (more…)

  • Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 Spotted Running Android Build KRS36B, First Sign of Key Lime Pie?

    key lime pie

The Chromium bug tracker has long been a great destination for unreleased Android version spotting. Like Glacier Park is for grizzly bear appearances or Hawaii for whale watching, wild, untamed beasts are always lurking in the bowels of Chromium. The members of the Chromium Project seem to regularly have devices running new builds of our favorite mobile OS, which appears to be the case again today. Spotted in a posting of bug 267659, a Chromium user was reporting on an issue with Cloud Print by listing out his devices. The Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 both made appearances running Android build KRS36B. Why is that significant? The “K,” my friends.  (more…)

  • Portenzo is Offering 10% Off New Nexus 7 Cases With This Coupon

I would imagine that if you picked up a new Nexus 7 over the last few days, that you are in the market for a new case. Since the design of the device has changed, you probably already figured out that the case from your old Nexus 7 is not going to work with the 2013 model. And since we told you not to buy the flimsy, rubber mess that is the official Travel Cover, we figured we should probably give you another quality option to replace it. In the past, we have been huge fans of Portenzo’s bookcases, even if they carry prices on the higher end of the case spectrum. But with a 10% off promo running until tomorrow night at midnight, this is your chance to jump into one for cheaper than usual.  (more…)

If you own a Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Google Play Edition phone or have flashed a stock Android 4.2 ROM that supports Photo Sphere, Google has given you a new service to upload your beautiful pictures of the world to. It’s called Views, and is somewhat of an extension of Google Maps. All Google asks that you do is take Photo Spheres as you travel the globe and then share them to Views to create one of the coolest photo collections we have ever seen.  (more…)
