    Here is our first hands-on video and gallery of the new Nexus 7 from Google. It comes shipped with Android 4.3, packs a Full HD display (1920 x 1200), dual back-facing speakers, a 5MP camera and a smooth plain black backside. Needless to say, it’s a pretty hot device.

    Powering the Nexus 7 is a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz, along with 2GB of RAM. Once available for purchase, there will be a 16GB and 32GB of storage WiFi-only option, priced at $229 and $269 respectively. In addition, there will be an LTE variant capable of running on Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile networks, priced at $349.99. Now, onto the unboxing.  (more…)

    The new Nexus 7 is finally official from Google. After what appeared to be massive success with last year’s version (no sales numbers were ever released), the Nexus 7 has received some major improvements. Down below we have listed out all of the specs that you will want to know and it’s a pretty awesome looking list.     If you are ready to throw money at your computer’s monitor, then head to Google Play and bookmark the new Nexus 7 pages for when they go live. Orders aren’t yet available, but it’s a good place to keep an eye on if you want to be one of the first to own it.   • Android 4.3 Factory Images Already Available for Nexus 4, 7, 10, and GSM Galaxy Nexus

    And just like that, we’ve got Android 4.3 (JWR66V) factory images already available for the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (WiFi and HSPA), Nexus 10, and GSM Galaxy Nexus (takju and yakju) variants.

    If you don’t want to wait for the OTA to arrive or a .zip to flash, you can always flash factory images in adb. These do wipe your phone though, so keep that in mind.

  • Google Announces New Nexus 7, Brings Full HD Display and Android 4.3

    This morning at Google’s event in SF, the company has announced a brand new Nexus 7 tablet. The tablet is light and was designed to be more portable, according to Hugo Barra.

    It features the same 7″ display, but comes with a higher resolution (1920 x 1200), back-facing camera, dual stereo speakers and Fraunhofer audio technology. It ships with a quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, dual-band WiFi and there is a 4G LTE variant for AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile on a single device. Not multiple variants for different carriers. It also packs in wireless charging. Battery performance has been increased as well, going up a full hour of usage.  (more…)

  • Live: Google’s Breakfast With Sundar Pichai, Likely the Nexus 7 and 4.3 Unveiling

    Who wants breakfast? How about a side of Android 4.3 with your sunny-side-up new Nexus 7? At Google’s planned breakfast event with Android and Chrome boss Sundar Pichai that is taking place this morning, we may be snacking on both, along with some Chrome news as well (Chromecast?).

    We’re here in San Francisco to join in on the festivities, so whatever is announced, will be seen here at DL. And unlike yesterday’s get-together with Verizon, this one is streamed live for the world to see. Yes, that means you are coming along for the ride.

  • New Nexus 7 Pre-orders Already Live Through Best Buy, Full Gallery Too

    Well, there she is in all her glory. The new Nexus 7 is now live through BestBuy.com for pre-order, meaning we are almost 100% guaranteed to see it unveiled at tomorrow’s breakfast meeting with Sundar Pichai. The 2nd generation tablet from Google has already been leaked, what feels like a dozen or so times through testers and retailers over the last few days, but this one sort of puts the nail in the coffin.  (more…)
